Impact Nashville, a local women’s giving circle, has donated a total of $57,000 to two Nashville-area nonprofits, ShowerUp and Oasis Center. Each non-profit organization received a $28,500 contribution to their individual impact on the Greater Nashville area. The check-signing ceremony took place on Friday, November 30, 2018, at Barge Design Solutions.
ShowerUp (Small and New Nonprofits Category) provides opportunities for Nashville’s homeless community to take a warm, clean shower no matter the location. Impact Nashville’s contribution specifically helps ShowerUp purchase a third mobile unit, expanding their ability to care for neighbors and friends in need. Oasis Center (Ending the Cycle Category) is a nationally-recognized organization on a mission to help young individuals in Middle Tennessee transition into a happy, healthy, and productive adulthood.
Oasis Center provides a wide range of opportunities that meets the youth and their families where they need it most: crisis intervention services, youth leadership, community engagement, and college and career access. Impact Nashville funding will support Oasis Center’s “REAL Program”, changing the lives of youth involved in the juvenile justice system.
“We are unbelievably proud of the organizations our women members voted on and chose to win our grants. Both organizations are doing amazing work and are meeting a great need in the community”, says Mollie Lacher, Executive Director of Impact Nashville.
Impact Nashville empowers women to collectively invest in and develop non-profits that serve the community to create a greater Nashville. The organization has given $176,000 in grants since 2015.
Previous Impact Nashville recipients include: Tennessee Higher Education Initiative (2015), Retrieving Independence (2016), Safe Haven (2016), Tennessee Alliance for Kids (2017), and Renewal House (2017).
